Quick Summary
Through effective data analysis and visualization, the State Government has been able to track the progress of the JJM scheme and take necessary actions to achieve the goal of providing safe drinking water to all rural households. By closely monitoring the target vs achievement, approval status, completion status, and funds allocation, the Government can ensure the successful implementation of the JJM scheme in the State.

About the Customer
The State Government in the northern region of India working towards implementing all national schemes is actively now involved in achieving completion of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), a national program aimed at providing safe and adequate drinking water through individual household tap connections to all rural households in India by the end of 2024. The State Government is looking to achieve this goal by identifying villages, blocks, and panchayats that require intervention and tracking the progress of water supply works in terms of completion and funds allocation.

Problem Statement
The State Government’s objective was to analyze the implementation of the JJM scheme and its progress in achieving the target of providing safe drinking water. Some of the challenges faced by the State Government was:
- Ensuring timely approval and completion of water supply works.
- Addressing any discrepancies or delays in work progress.
- Managing and monitoring the allocation and utilization of funds effectively.

Solution
One of the objectives of the implementation was to
- Track the target vs achievement of water supply works in villages, blocks, and panchayats.
- Identify areas where work has been approved but not completed, areas where work is yet to be approved, and areas where work has been completed.
- Monitor the allocation and expenditure of funds for the JJM scheme.
To start with the “Data from the State Government’s database (Maria DB)” was analyzed using the data visualization tool Tableau. The target vs achievement of water supply works was tracked at various levels such as village, block, and panchayat. The approval status and completion status of works were monitored, and the allocation and expenditure of funds were closely tracked. Visualizations such as bar charts, maps, and tabular charts were used to present the findings.
The analysis of the JJM data revealed the following results:
- The progress of water supply works varied across villages, blocks, and panchayats. Some areas had completed works, while others were still in progress or awaiting approval.
- The allocation and expenditure of funds were monitored to ensure proper financial management and to identify any disparities.
- By tracking the target vs achievement, the State Government could identify areas that required intervention and take necessary actions to expedite work completion.
